Our new CPD programme is designed to enable all EYFS staff to deliver fun and structured sessions to all children. Often external professionals come into a setting and deliver sessions to students – but usually this is just once per week. Having an external professional come into a setting is extremely beneficial to children and staff however, we want all children to experience Movin Monkeez and believe that CPD for staff is the best use of budget.
We’re in the early development stages of bringing the CPD programme onto an e-learning platform. And currently, we’re delivering CPD workshops face to face, which also includes course material to use during sessions. You will also have the option to bring us back the following year for new course content and training.
Our 3-hour workshop covers everything you need to know about running a Movin Monkeez session in-house:
- Introduction
- Warm-ups and cool-downs
- How to keep the children engaged throughout a 30-minute session
- How to structure your sessions
- Inclusion for all
- How to link to literacy
- Course material for 15 topics with demonstration and participation of two lessons.
Linking to literacy is one of our core strengths and the feedback from schools has been wonderful. We have favourites such as: The Gruffalo, Rumble in the Jungle, Owl Babies, The Jolly Postman, Giraffes Can’t Dance, We’re Going On a Bear Hunt to name a few. Each lesson plan comes with suggested music (we recommend that you download from Amazon / Spotify) and equipment to use which hopefully you’ll find in your PE cupboard.
Not only that, in our workshop we teach you how to create your own lesson plans based books in your classroom. This will give you the confidence to link dance / movement to any book you’re reading with your students.
All of our lesson plans come in easy-to-read PDF downloads which you can place in a file and repeat year-on-year! We try to not only use PE equipment but also like to get the children to find / make their own equipment to use in their sessions. All lesson plans come with visual aids which you can print off and use in your sessions should you wish.
Price: Our 3 hour workshop is £500 which includes set-up / travel / all course material (for all 15 lesson plans) for upto 10 staff.

Movin Monkeez has been established for 11 years and has been running successfully in pre-schools, nurseries, schools, gyms and the community.
